Meet the Management Team

Joseph Petrash, CCM, CHA - Managing Principal

As a Managing Principal in Borders Golf Group, a full-service hospitality company,  Mr. Petrash brings extensive domestic and international experience in the hospitality industry to include ownership, development, operations and restructuring with an emphasis on high-end private clubs, hotels, and resorts.

Mr. Petrash has provided management and consulting services for many properties through his company focusing on strategic planning, operational programming and efficiencies, culture and team development along with developing unique experiences while ensuring each project is economically feasible.

Joe served as Senior Vice President of Baker’s Bay Golf and Ocean Club, the ultra-exclusive private club and community on the island of Great Guana Cay in the Bahamas.  He was President of Cordillera Club Properties operating The Club at Cordillera, Catamount Ranch and Club, The Club at Crested Butte, Granby Ranch and Club in addition to Mayacama Golf Club a top 100 private club located in Santa Rosa California.

He has also held senior positions with a variety of private clubs along with Marriott Hotels and Resorts.

Borders Golf Group previously owned TPC Cancun, located in pristine Cancun, MX and is currently a partner in Todd Creek Golf Club located in Thornton, CO.

Bill Timken - Managing Principal

As a Managing Principal of Borders Golf Group, he brings significant experience in sales and marketing, communications, owner and resident relations, financing and due diligence, along with various aspects of operations.  Prior to forming Borders Golf Group, Mr. Timken worked in the financial markets and brings 20 years of successful sales experience from a career in the brokerage industry.

Among Mr. Timken strengths are the day-to-day nurturing of customer relationships in addition to resolving client issues in a satisfactory way.    Mr. Timken’s role is primarily in business development, sales and marketing, due diligence, sales and acquisitions of properties, management contracts, as well as working with financial institutions to obtain financing and development funds.

Mr. Timken was responsible for raising significant funds for a real estate development located in Todos Santos Mexico, along with other projects that had financing needs.

Petrash earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University of Miami, Florida.  Mr. Petrash is a Certified Club Manager (CCM) and a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA). Mr. Petrash is the former President of the Colorado Golf Course Owners Association.

Some of the prestigious firms Mr. Timken worked for include Dean Witter, Everen Securities, and the U.S. equity division of the Royal Bank of Canada.  Mr. Timken holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from California State University, Hayward.  He formerly  held Series 7 & 63 registration from the SEC.
